Thunderdrift: Nor-Cal Formula Drift ProAm Round 1

  Sunday Feb. 7th of 2010 was the season opener of the newly established Nor Cal Formula Drift ProAm Series: Thunderdrift.  The event had a strong turnout consisting of Nor Cal's finest ProAm drivers and seriously impressive drift cars.  Thunderhill's turns 13-10 (counter-course direction) provided the drivers with a configuration that demanded a high speed initiation and a tricky transition over a blind crest.

 During the morning practice runs the drivers gained confidence on the course and qualifying provided a great show.  Top qualifiers Ryan Kado and Jared Thompson displayed consistent runs that were full of smoke and angle.  By the end of the day it was Julian Jacobs taking the win.

 The drivers and spectators at the event enjoyed Nos Energy Drink's involvement to the fullest.  The winners of the event soaked each other down with bottles of Nos at the podium awards ceremony.  Come out on April 13th to watch Nor Cal's finest drift drivers battle it out in Round 2 of the Formula Drift ProAm Series: Thunderdrift.

The awards ceremony was this weekend at the Canadian motorsport show in Toronto, but I couldn't go because I'm in Los Angeles working on my new TV show. (More on that later.)

I'm so sorry I wasn't able to be there in person, but I sent Jen on my behalf. Here's a shot of all the winners!

AMS Performance attends Supercar Saturdays.

Last Saturday October 3^rd marked the last Saupercar Saturdays Meet of the year.  For those of you who don’t know, Supercar Saturdays is modeled after California’s “Cars and Coffee” and its Chicago land’s premiere exotic and custom car meet. We’ve heard a lot of great things about the event and we finally had a chance to make an appearance this past weekend with our newly acquired Porsche 911 996 TT, AMS GT-R and last but not least the AMS NOS Energy Drink time Attack EVO X.  NOS Energy Drink crew also came out to support us with loads of cold NOS and NOS Swag.  The meet was an absolute blast and we got to meet a lot of great people. We would like to thank the Supercar Saturdays staff for having us there and we’re definitely looking forward to coming back next year!

NOS x AMS Mitsubishi Owner's Day (MOD) Normal IL

We teamed up with the AMS guys to have the best and largest booth at M.O.D. 2009 in Normal IL this past weekend.  AMS brought out the record-holding drag car and their RalliArt they have been tuning to put next to our tent.  The NOS Energy tent was by far the busiest at the event.  There was always a line an everyone got their Human Horsepower all the way until Mother Nature decided to end the party early.  Check the photos after the jump:

AMS/NOS Energy Drink attends M.O.D. in Normal, IL.

Despite mother nature’s best efforts this year’s M.O.D event in Normal, IL. proved to be a great time. The past few years Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) opened the doors to its Normal Illinois assembly plant for Mitsubishi owners all over the Midwest. The event is highlighted with free products, raffles, several activities and free food courtesy of MMNA and their volunteer staff. Every year AMS and several other vendors along with Mitsubishi owners attend this event to share in their common admiration for the Diamond Star line.

Primed to blow the lid off the current custom car and paint trends, Sideways AutoSalon/NOS Energy Drink/Import All Stars has unleashed this gem on the rest of the country.

 

This 2002 Subaru has been a long time demo vehicle for the boys at Sideways AutoSalon in Austin, Texasand its newest metamorphosis is jaw dropping. The most obvious, slap-you-in-the-face aspect of the vehicle is its ridiculously detailed HAND PAINTED tattoo paint job. The brush work was handled by the renowned artist Cindy ‘Crash’ Raschke & is in her own words ‘absolutely the coolest thing I’ve ever been allowed to do’. The two tone basecoat is a steel gray mica & electric blue pearl sprayed with Dupont’s Chroma system for maximum brilliance. The brush work was then covered with NINE coats of clear & required a full month of sanding to give it a glassy smooth finish. The entire paint job was a 4 month project & the pictures simply do not do it justice. You must see this car in person at the upcoming Hot Import Nights ‘Rivalry Nights’ in Austin, Texas.

 

AZ "Hot-Lap" GTG @ Audi Forum Infineon Raceway

Nos hit up Infineon Raceway on August 15th to participate in the gathering of Northern California's Audi Enthusiasts first GTG Sportscar Experience. This was brought to you by Audizine @ www.audizine.com.

We were able to take rides with professional drivers in the new Audi R8 V10, TT-S, and S5 around the track. This was a great day for The Nor Cal Nos Team as we cross promoted with Audizine and car goers in the Bay Area. Yeeeeeeee!
