Sometimes the coolest people, places, things in life are private until you know someone who knows someone...
This was the case when I was introduced to an amazing collection of original and restored hot rods in Greenville, SC. The man behind the collection, Greg Porter, is not only the owner of the collection but he is also the restorer.
His collection has been a lifelong passion which has now turned into an amazing facility and collection. As his years in the automotive business, and his son Toby's stock car racing career developed, the collection added more than just vehicles.
Greg's facility is a multi-building complex which houses an in-house restoration shop, a museum, and additional storage buildings.
We are pleased to be apart of equiping the shop with human horsepower to go along with the real horsepower found in the many buildings at Greg Porter's Custom Shop. If you are in Greenville, SC or near the area, look up Greg and he will be happy to show you around.
Kyle Busch was able to return to Nashville, TN recently for two cool reasons. First, Kyle teamed with music industry and racing legend Mike Curb on a local music charity donation project. The project, Pam Garrett and the Nashville Alliance for Public Education, allowed Kyle to donate more than Gibson 150 guitars to local music programs with Mike Curb's partnership in the program.
Once the donation announcement was made, it was time for Kyle to return to the cockpit of the #51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota Camry CRA Late Model car. Kyle was forced to start from the back of the 35 car field. However, within 60 laps of the 150 lap race Kyle was into second place. His day ended early with a mechanical failure.
If you are a big fan of Rowdy, his local short track races are a great way to get to see Kyle race without the massive crowds found at the NASCAR race events that Kyle competes. Check on http://www.rowdybusch.com to find out where Kyle is racing in his KBM #51 Camry.
It is really cool to have someone like Kyle involved with NOS. Kyle never tires of racing and competing on the track, whether it is in NASCAR, in a regional late model, or an r/c car. And no matter what race it is, he HATES to finish second...real human horsepower.
