I went North of the Border for a little Late Model racing last night. Pretty cool to see all the fans come out to Delaware Speedway up in Ontario Canada. Right from the first practice the car was super fast, and I knew we had something for them. We did and picked up the win! Thanks to Steve Robblee for letting me drive his car, and turn it into the #51, and NOS for keeping me fueled up during those long trips. In Chicago now, heading to an appearance, then over to the speedway to get ready for this weekends Nationwide and Cup races. (Photo: Delaware Speedway)
The race was broken up into two segments of 125 laps and 126 laps. The first segment we got a bit loose and finished second to Chase Elliott, the break gave the guy's time to adjust on the car, and that really helped.
I had a great time racing with Chase and Ross Kenseth, they were really fast all night. However, in the end the NOS Energy Drink Toyota was too much for them, and we got it to Victory Lane.
In California now for the Cup race, ready to get on track. I look forward to challenging the road course out here in Sonoma, and hopefully picking up another win!
Wednesday night was Tony Stewart's annual charity race, the Prelude to the Dream, it's a great event that I get to take part in each year. This year I was the Team Captain for Team Levine, which is a Children's Hospital in the Charlotte area.
I wish I could have got the NOS Energy Drink car to Victory Lane, it's frustrating not being able to ever close one of those deals out. I felt like, if it went green the whole way, I probably could've won. However, we had different tires and a different setup that wouldn't really go on the short run and that really killed us. But at least I was the captain of the winning team. I'm just really happy that our efforts - especially Jimmie's - helped us to make a donation to Levine Children's Hospital. I want to thank Tony for putting on the race. We all have a lot of fun out there.
Thanks to NOS for all the support, it's time to get to work in Michigan, so I have to get rolling!
Check out this behind the scenes video of Kyle's post race interview, and shots of Kyle in Victory Lane in Richmond!
Hey guys.... Kyle was having some technical difficulties so I'm posting this blog he wrote for him...
Man, what a great weekend. First of all This was the first weekend that we drove the No. 18 NOS Toyota in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and we were able to win the pole and lead the most laps in the Nationwide race at Richmond. All the guys on the Joe Gibbs Racing Nationwide team worked their rear ends off to give me a really fast NOS Toyota and we almost got us another win. I had a chance to meet with some NOS guests before the race and spend some time with them on the grid.
So the rain canceled the Martinsville race where our first TV spot was supposed to air, but check out the spot above ... pretty NOSome if I say so myself. The commercial will air on the rebroadcast on Monday along with other select Sprint Cup races throughout the year.
Also don't forget to click here to friend NOS Energy Drink on Facebook. All the cool kids are doing it!
For those who know NOS Energy Drink and the people behind it, you guys know that we’re passionate about motorsports. Like really passionate, borderline obsessive, about motorsports. And if we like all things with motors, then we’re punch drunk, head over heels about drifting. Below is the crazy and (slightly embellished but) mostly true story on how a commercial about drifting will be airing on network TV in front of millions of people during some NASCAR Sprint Cup races in 2010.
Congrats again to Kyle Busch, the 2009 Nationwide Champion!!
This is NOS's first NASCAR Championship, and the second Team NOS Champ this year! Check out these pictures from Kyle's big win in Miami on November 21. Thanks to Darren and the team NOS members out in Miami for the pics!
